The Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery County is the fifth largest Shakespeare festival in the world.

Alabama Gulf Coast, is known for its 32 miles of beaches, theme parks and playgrounds, attractions include Waterville USA, Pirate Island, Dauphin Island, and Historic Blakeley State Park in Spanish Fort, site of the last great battle of the Civil War.

Auburn / Opelika A walk along Auburn Avenue, Sweet Auburn, is to take a walk through a living museum of the achievements of the legendary Black Atlanta.

A good place to start in Auburn is the Museum of East Alabama, where there are hundreds of artifacts that represent life in eastern Alabama and the Southeast since mid-1800 to the present. Rail Opelika Historic District includes Lee County Courthouse, built an industrial tribunal in 1896.

Other attractions include the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, the Arlington Antebellum Home and Gardens, the city only Antebellum mansion, now a museum of decorative arts, Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, the Museum of the Heart of Dixie Railway , a haven for enthusiasts of the railroad, and the McWane Center, a state of the art science center with IMAX Dome Theater.

The history of Mercedes was made in the Mercedes Benz USA International Visitors Center Vance. Factory tours originate from the center.
